At 15 years old, Alfonsina started to play the flute, with an education that combined classic technique and jazz fusion thanks to her mentor Jaime "Chino" Vásquez, a renowned flute and saxophone player. Three years later, she enrolled in the Conservatory of Music at the University of Chile, where she deepened her voice and singing development alongside music theory and analysis. Mixing her natural curiosity and musical versatility, Alfonsina has achieved an uninterrupted career as a performer.
Later, Alfonsina co-founded TorreMar Music Studio, a familiar studio that has been offering professional music services since 2021 with the mixing engineer Jesus Martinez. This studio has given Alfonsina a unique experience as a studio musician and audio post-production, especially in classical music.
With Canto Crisol, Alfonsina explored music with her flute, her voice, and percussions, different sounds of Nueva Cancion Chilena, progressive rock, latin-american folklore, and classical music. In the last years of the group, Alfonsina became the Musical Director, leading the production of the last album "Homónimo".
On the third album of the historical music group Alameda Memoria, the composer Felipe Sandoval asked Alfonsina to be the Musical Director. This work was very innovative, combining remote work for rehearsal, and production, with in-person work by recording and conducting every piece in record time in Madreselva studios (Chile). Furthermore, she completed the production at her own studio in Madrid. Besides the musical direction, Alfonsina also plays flute and gives voice to Amanda Labarca.
Eloísa Díaz: Ciencia Urgente (2021) is an animated musical film that portrays three episodes of the life of Eloísa Díaz, the first female doctor in Chile and Latin America, and their contribution to the struggles for food and health of students in Santiago’s public schools the beginning of the 20th century. It is the third work of the historical music group Alameda Memoria and it's supported by the International Organisation Ibermúsicas.
Alfonsina co-founded this group for the seek of rescuing latin american music while being far away from home. This was a space to create, play, and just enjoy music, where Alfonsina focused herself on recording the music as well.
As Alfonsina loves latin american music, orchestral, and much more, it is easy to find in many other projects. Including being a soprano singer at the Symphonic Choir at the University of Chile, and her singing at Proyecto Historiante.
She has performed on many stages across Chile, such as Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, the Estadio Nacional de Chile, Quinta Vergara, Movistar Arena, Catedral de Santiago, Aula Magna de Valparaíso, among others. In Spain, she has been seen at the Auditorio Nacional de España, the C.C. Eduardo Úrculo, the Auditorio de Becerril de la Sierra, Virgen en El Escorial Church, and Nuestra Señora de nuestras Victorias Church in Tetuan.
